World-class performances over the hurdles distance are pre-programmed: Asier Martínez, Wilhelm Belocian and the German hurdles duo are coming to Karlsruhe.
When it comes to the men's hurdles at the INIT INDOOR MEETING Karlsruhe on 7 February, fast times and world-class performances are inevitable.
This is because Asier Martínez, the 2022 European champion and bronze medallist at the 2022 World Championships, has confirmed his participation at the INIT INDOOR MEETING Karlsruhe. The five-time Spanish national champion also competed in the Olympic final last August, finishing in sixth place. He will be joined by Wilhelm Belocian from France, who is no stranger to the Karlsruhe starting field. The 29-year-old Belocian already competed at the INIT INDOOR MEETING in 2021 and was able to make it a success. In 7.49 seconds, the six-time national champion, who has a personal best of 7.42 seconds in the indoor arena, secured victory on the day. Just a few weeks after his triumph in Karlsruhe, he confirmed his form and secured his only international indoor title to date at the European Indoor Championships in Torun.
German hurdles duo at the start
Martínez and Belocian will be joined at the start by two German athletes, Manuel Mordi and Tim Eikermann. Mordi is a two-time German outdoor champion (2023 and 2024) and the reigning German indoor champion in the 4 x 200 metre relay. Tim Eikermann secured the title of German indoor champion in 2023 and 2024.
